Her Dark Destiny Hunters of the Dark, 1 by David Ferraro. The first of the series this book starts off with action and adventure The main character of course is a strong young woman who is a demon hunter, taking a night off from hunting she decides to go out with her best friend to a club to have fun and dance During the evening she soon realizes fun is not what she was going to have She ends up in a fight for her life and meets up with two other hunters who help her out in battle When the night ends she gets information from the other hunters about The Agency, they have been trying to recruit her to go work for them Losing her only friend she decides to go and try to work with other hunters to rid the world of evil creatures and not just demons We see many different types of paranormal creatures in this story demon s many different types , vampires good ones and bad ones , giants, werewolf s etc. So you know this will be an action filled series.Dave Ferraro did an excellent job with this book, with his excellent writing skills he gave us a beginning to each character and you can see many future books in this series hoping that is What I really liked is we get to see each characters point of views while he is telling us this story And of course besides action and adventure there are love interests, young woman meets cute guy, then she meets handsome vampire, and like most women we kind of cheer for the bad boy vampire type Well at least I do I know this is a good book because when I finished it I went a purchased Night Cries Hunters of the Dark 2.

I read this book as a part of Read to Review by Paranormal Romance Urban Fantasy Fanatics It started off with a bang and I simply loved the surprise of the prostitute moping one second and going Buffy the next After that, it all went downhill It was really hard getting myself immersed in the story In fact, I think I would have liked it better, if I could have just skipped the first half of the book The description of The Agency Mansion went on for pages yes, I got it..the mansion s really cool but move on And then there s Shanna She claims to have a connection with Cameron Other than discussing a few comic books, I fail to see any bonding between them And then came Damien..its Twilight all over again The supposed darkness that Shanna starts to feel by the middle of the book left me feeling clueless If it was a part of her, where had it been for the first half of the story Natalie was another character that just irked me She seemed to be a one woman army, I didn t buy it at all I liked how Noel and Jordan paired up and Jordan s confusion to being attracted to a guy who was also a vampire was very real I also liked the part about how Moras are conceived and I hope we see of them in the next book I ll give the series another try before I give it up for good.

I received this book as a part of R2R.So I struggled at a rating for this book Let me explain.I found this book very interesting I thought the plot was solid and the story kept going I really liked the cast of characters from all walks of life This will make many readers very happy But like others, I was left wondering who was the lead For purposes of this review, I am assuming Shanna was the lead and Jordan was the minor lead.Shanna, let s just say, I didn t like her very much She was okay But my rating isn t based on liking her or not view spoiler Maybe my problem lay with the fact I felt bad that she really didn t have a romantic HEA moments in the whole book I read a lot of books from mystery to urban fantasy to romance to paranormal to some horror I don t need romance in a story to have it work for me But if romance is there, what I hate most is to be teased by it It bugs me I d rather the romance not be there at all than to be teased throughout the book There are some books that can get away with that But there has to be action, mystery, something to fill the gaps This story changed POV so much, when it was Shanna s turn, we dealt with her angst over many things This including romance So I felt dissatisfied by it and not intrigued This includes Cameron and Damien, both of whom I would have liked to know better hide spoiler

I really enjoyed reading this book The story line is great I was captivated from the get go I love all the kick ass chicks Every single one of the characters has such outrages personalities freaking awesome They are unpredictable and keep you on your toes This is the type of book that does it for me it is action packed and yes the girls did most of the in your face knock outs and has romance as well as humour I just have to add that I m totally swooning over Damien sigh although I don t know much about him but I am anxious to see how his role plays out in Shanna s life I enjoyed Dave Ferraro s writing style, that being said, Hunters of the Dark is definitely a series I ll be following Also have to add What is up with the sneak peek of the second book in the Hunters of the Dark Series, Night Cries seriously Cliff hanger of note if you ask me I NEED to know what is about to go down pouts All in all it was a great read and I look forward to the rest of the series.

I was hesitating about writing a review for this book, mainly because of the poor rating I am giving it But finally I did it because of two reasons First, because I want to write down my thoughts and opinion on a book, good or bad, and second because I believe an honest review is what the authors are after. So, what s this book about Name Shanna HuntAge 18 Previous job Part time waitressCurrent job Demon hunter at The Agency Shanna Hunt lost her parents seven years ago, when they were killed by Demons Since then, though she is trying to lead a normal life she is after those that killed her family and the evil that threatens Humans One day she is called to work for The Agency together with people who fight werewolves, vampires, witches, shape shifters Together they work as a team hunting down every thread and risking their own lives.Yes, seems like there s a lot of meat to the story I must say I did have big expectations because I loved the beginning The story seems to contain lots of genre elements, from paranormal to action, though I would personally enjoy it if it were romance elements included However, the lack of romance isn t the main reason why I didn t enjoy this book so much Though I do love Paranormal and Urban Fantasy books, I really had a hard time coping with so many characters and creatures, vampires, demons, witches, shape shifters This seemed a LOT for me to digest.Shanna hunts Demons.Jordan hunts werewolves.Cameroon hunts shape shifters.Amelia hunts witches.Believe me, I needed to write all this down, so I wouldn t be confused and could understand the plot. Also, I think some of the dialogue and the descriptions in the book were irrelevant to the story, and made it seem at least to me boring at times.Having in mind that this is the first book in the series to come, I would really like to read the sequel and see on which characters the author is going to concentrate I really liked Shanna and her energy and I would love to read about her. Also I would like to that the R2R from the PNRUFF here on GR and the author for generously giving me a copy of this book.

I really enjoyed this one Shanna is 18 years old and a demon hunter who s parents were murdered by can you guess You got it, demons She teams up with a misfit crew to hunt down baddies that have started killing hunters You ve got shifters, werewolves, all kinds of demons, vampires, various others dark creatures, and a mermaid thrown in for good measure Also some kind of secret history going on with Shanna that will keep me reading the series. The writing was very descriptive and sometimes almost poetic in places Put this one on your to read list

For some reason it wasn t easy getting through the first pages, but after trying a few times, I was finally pulled in and the rest went on smoothly. It was good to see the author focus on other creatures other than the usual we see being hunted vampires, demons and werewolves It was action packed and I do love action in a novel well described and fleshed out characters I d say this is a wonderful begining of a series, and look forward to the second book, see what happens with Shanna Hunt Four stars because at times there were a lot of characters and I couldn t follow.

Okay, I have no idea how to review this book I don t really know if I liked it or not There were a few things I liked but there were also a few things I didn t like First of all, the main character is great She has a lot of potential, if only she didn t whine and moan as much The romance between her and another character wasn t really build up very well I wasn t cheering for them to get together, simply because the moments they were together were not very special I think that was the problem with a lot of characters, great potential but not there yet I didn t have a problem with the amount of characters, but like I said I did have a problem with the their lack of character, the thing that makes them likeable wasn t there I don t have to like every character, but I need to have a better idea of who they are.I didn t like the pov switching, but that s my problem and not the writers It s just something I don t like in most books It has to be a very special book if I liked it The plot itself was pretty good I really liked the idea of getting hunters together in one house and training them and stuff The only thing I missed was the training You can t send a team of hunters out without them knowing each other You can t They have to have had at least a few days of intensive training Plus the way the main character trusts them at once is a bit weird for me One moment she is a closed off girl and the next she wants to be friends with all of them How can you trust complete strangers with your life YOU CAN T Maybe others don t find this a problem, but I m a social worker so I know a bit about how people react to stuff and how they behave and I can tell you. this is not how a group acts It s not how they act because they are not a group yet Without the proper techniques, you can t bring a group to trust each other in a short period of time And I didn t see these techniques anywhere, plus these people have extreme barriers around themselves, that makes it even harder So it just felt a bit. unreal to me.My native language is not english so I can t say anything about grammar and stuff, but the way the characters spoke to each other needs some work The conversations seemed flat This book needs a lot of work, even though it is action packed it feels a bit flat But I did give it three stars because I can see a lot of potential and I love the idea, it just needs some editing and changes.
